I. Introduction:
The 983F inverted bucket steam trap operates on the principle of the density difference between condensate and steam. Its internal structure consists of an inverted bucket connected by a lever system, which overcomes steam pressure to switch the inverted bucket. The inverted bucket inside the trap serves as a liquid level sensing element with its opening facing downward. When the device first starts, air and low-temperature condensate appear in the pipeline. At this time, the trap is fully open, allowing air and low-temperature condensate to be discharged quickly, and the device warms up rapidly. When steam enters the inverted bucket, the inverted bucket generates upward buoyancy, and the lever connected to the inverted bucket drives the valve core to close the valve. A small hole is drilled on the inverted bucket to automatically exhaust air. When part of the steam is discharged through the small hole and another part of the steam condenses into water, the inverted bucket loses buoyancy and sinks downward. The lever connected to the inverted bucket drives the valve core to open the valve. When steam enters the inverted bucket again, the valve closes again, working in a cycle to discharge water intermittently.
II. Product Features:
1. All moving parts in the inner cavity are made of stainless steel, which is wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant.
2. Since steam cannot reach the water-sealed valve seat hole, there is no steam loss, making it highly energy-efficient.
3. The inverted bucket will not be deformed or flattened, is not afraid of water hammer, and has a long service life.
4. The top of the inverted bucket is equipped with an exhaust hole, which has excellent continuous air exhaust performance and will not cause cold lag or air blockage.
5. The inverted bucket steam trap is not affected by back pressure and can work well under high back pressure.
6. The inverted bucket steam trap is reliable in operation, with only two moving parts (the lever and the inverted bucket), so it will not jam.
7. The valve seat and valve disc are located at the top of the valve. The valve disc allows dirt to pass through during switching, providing good self-cleaning performance and no dirt-related issues.
III. Installation:
1. The steam trap should be installed below the heating equipment to facilitate the automatic inflow of condensate.
2. Before installing the steam trap, the pipeline should be purged with steam to remove debris inside.
3. Install it according to the flow direction marked on the valve body.
4. Mechanical steam traps should be installed horizontally.
5. When installing the steam trap, it is generally necessary to consider installing a bypass valve and a detection valve.
6. Some steam traps do not come with a built-in filter, so a Y-type strainer should be considered for installation.
7. The steam trap should be insulated; for bimetallic steam traps, approximately 1 meter of bare pipe should be left.
